Just a friendly reminder that the “Free” section of Craigslist is intended for posting items you are offering for… you guessed it — FREE! No strings attached.
To clarify:
> Charging money for an item is not free.
> Asking for a “rehoming fee” is not free.
> Offering an estimate for a service that you charge money for is not free.
> Offering advice is not the same as offering something tangible for free.
> Asking for something for free is not the same as offering something for free.
> Asking for beer in exchange for something free is not free — that’s called bartering, and there is a separate section on CL for those transactions.
As someone who has actively used and benefited from Craigslist for 30+ years — particularly its “free” section — I ask respectfully that we all agree to follow the guidelines that Craig Newmark set in place and Make Craigslist Free Again.
