Support Host (Lompoc)

compensation: $12.00 – $13.00 per hour, depending on experience

The Support Host for the Recovery Learning Center is responsible for the organization and direction of adult clients with psychiatric disabilities in acquiring and enhancing skills that will help enable them to live and work successfully in the community. This position promotes social rehabilitation, independence, wellness and recovery both inside the community and outside, to the surrounding community. The Support Host is responsible for having knowledge and skills in all aspects of the program. The Support Host will uphold and promote the program philosophy in all duties performed.

Part-Time, 17 hours per week

High School diploma or equivalent and awareness/understanding of the needs of psychiatrically disabled population; and/or experience in field of job coaching. Must have a basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs. Individuals who have had lived experience as a consumer of mental health services are encouraged to apply. Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; well defined organizational and time management skills, and collaborative work style; able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of ethnic, racial, religious background or socio-economic level. Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients, and other persons contacted through TMHA business. Good judgment, decision making, and problem solving skills. Conditions of employment include: must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License, minimum of 2 years driving experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets TMHA’s current vehicle insurance requirements. May be required to utilize personal vehicle and auto insurance. At the time of hire, other conditions of employment are to comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result, and receipt of a criminal record clearance through fingerprinting. Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.
